Epilepsy SA – South Cape/Karoo Branch
Caring Beyond Diagnosis. Supporting With Dignity.
WHO WE ARE?
Epilepsy South Africa’s South Cape/Karoo Branch is a registered non-profit organisation (NPO 006-414) that has been providing specialised care and support to adults with debilitating epilepsy and other neurological disabilities since 1985. Our residential and Day Care facilities in Knysna offer more than just medical support—they offer safety, belonging, and a life filled with purpose.
We believe in a future where people living with epilepsy are not defined by their condition, but empowered to live full, meaningful lives. Most of our residents do not have families to support them, which is why our staff, other residents and community become their family.
We also advocate for epilepsy awareness, provide support to families and caregivers, and run sustainable income projects such as our Charity Shop and carpentry Workshop to help fund our services.
OUR VISION
To promote the human rights of Persons with Epilepsy.
OUR MISSION
To see a world where people with epilepsy are included and accepted without discrimination.
OUR CORE VALUES
Dignity – Every person deserves respect and care.
Hope – We believe in the power of second chances and new beginnings.
Community – No one walks this journey alone.
Integrity – We are transparent and accountable.
Empowerment – We focus on ability, not disability.
MEET THE TEAM
